Vendor Feature at HarborMarket

At HarborMarket from the first season, Brightonwoods Orchard offers 150 varieties of apples, as well as grapes and pears, over the course of their growing season. In addition to beautiful, local apples, another popular product from this vendor is their homemade Apple Cider – made with a custom mix of fall apples for a perfect blend.

Brightonwoods Orchard was established in 1950 as a hobby. Over the years the property has expanded from three acres to more than 100 acres - with more than 18 acres dedicated to their apple trees. Speaking of trees, 4,000 dwarf and semi-dwarf trees grace the farm. The orchard owner learned how to graft trees – meaning that they can make new trees from ones that are hundreds of years old. There is an emphasis on preserving existing heirloom and antique varieties. However, the orchard also grows popular commercial styles such as honeycrisp.

Like many farms, the Orchard is a family effort and labor of love. Owner and operator, Bill Stone, along with his daughters, continue to care for the orchard that Bill’s Father-in-Law purchased in 1950. You can visit their orchard for apple sampling, walking the trails on the property, and more family fun.
